The European Green Deal is an EU framework that has the objective to transform the EU into a modern, resource-efficient and competitive economy, ensuring no net emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050 and looking into environmental issues such as climate change, loss of biodiversity, ozone depletion, water pollution, urban stress, waste production and more. One of the strategies that go in line is the Farm to Fork Strategy that aims at making food systems fair, healthy and environmentally-friendly by necessary redesigning our food systems It sees five parts as core steps to look at: (1) production, (2) cleaning and packaging, (3) distribution, (4) retail, and (5) consumption.
